Subramanian is a highly accomplished banking professional and corporate leader with nearly four decades of experience in corporate banking, project finance, credit appraisal, risk management, and strategic financial leadership. As the former Chief General Manager (Scale VIII) of Canara Bank, he led the Bank’s Large Corporate Credit Wing at the Head Office and played a key role in managing and growing one of India’s largest corporate lending portfolios.

Throughout his distinguished career, Mr. Subramanian has demonstrated exceptional expertise in evaluating large-scale projects, structuring complex credit facilities, managing enterprise-level risks, and driving sustainable business growth. He has been instrumental in sanctioning credit facilities, steering significant business expansion initiatives, and leading high-performing teams across multiple regions and business verticals.

His leadership experience extends beyond banking operations into corporate governance and strategic oversight. He has served on the Boards of Can Fin Homes Limited and Canara Bank Venture Capital Limited, while also contributing as a member of Canara Bank’s Apex Investment Committee. These roles have provided him with deep insights into governance, investment evaluation, regulatory compliance, and business strategy.

A Gold Medalist in B.Sc. (Chemistry), Mr. Subramanian also holds a Diploma in Company Law and is an Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB).
